Following this presentation, I am hoping that physicians will understand that:
- Ordersets are highly flexible and the defaults on the ordersets can be changed and the order details can be modified to each physician’s liking.
- Preference lists can be created by each physician for orders that are used frequently.
Smartphrases (personalized documentation tools) can be created by each physician.

Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency Program held its Fifteenth Annual Primary Care CME Conference on June 7, 2011. The annual conference is planned by the graduating residents to help primary care physicians successfully operate their practices in a changing environment. This year’s conference featured 7 presenters and covered issues in operating a Medical Home delivery model, convergence of medical home and meaningful use criteria for information systems, regulatory changes in providing pain management, the impact of new economic realities for government support of medical services, and evolving practice models such as accountable care organizations. Over 40 local providers attended this conference, which was awarded 7 hours of category 1 CME credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Copies of the presentations are attached for download.
